xAI released Grok 4.3 at $1.25 per million input tokens and $2.50 per million output tokens, roughly 40% and 60% cheaper than Grok 4.2, with a 1 million token context window and voice cloning at $3.00 per hour. Anthropic launched Claude Security in public beta for enterprise customers, pairing Opus 4.7 with automated vulnerability scanning, scheduled code scans, and integrations with CrowdStrike, Palo Alto Networks, and Wiz. The U.S. War Department signed agreements with eight companies including OpenAI, Google, NVIDIA, and SpaceX to deploy frontier AI on classified networks. Its GenAI.mil platform already has 1.3 million users after just five months. OpenClaw now supports ChatGPT account sign-in, and Mistral launched remote cloud coding agents powered by its new 128B model Medium 3.5, which scores 77.6% on the SWE-Bench Verified coding benchmark.

The price war is accelerating. Grok 4.3 is now cheaper than most frontier APIs, putting pressure on OpenAI and Anthropic to respond. Claude Security turns vulnerability scanning into a product category rather than a feature, bundling partnerships with major security vendors that make switching costly. The War Department’s 1.3 million users on GenAI.mil represents the largest known government AI deployment, and the classified-network deals mean frontier models now process military secrets at scale.

A year ago these companies competed mostly on benchmarks. Now the competition is on distribution: who gets embedded in the most workflows, the most security stacks, the most government networks. Technical capability is converging. Lock-in through integration is the new moat.
