AnyPS5 is a free tool that turns a PlayStation 5 game file into an ordinary Windows or Linux program. Rather than emulating the console, it rewrites the game’s executable into a native .exe or .elf and supplies open-source stand-ins for the system libraries a game calls for files, memory, controllers and sound. The PS5’s processor speaks the same x86-64 language as a desktop PC, so most of the game’s own code runs unchanged. The console’s graphics shaders, the short programs that draw each frame, are recompiled into the format Vulkan drivers accept. A browser converter does the work locally, files never leave your device, and the input is an already decrypted game file rather than a disc.
Because nothing is emulated, a game you already own can run on hardware you already have, with no PS5 underneath it. Few games get far yet. All 1,166 AMD shader instructions the project tracks are decoded, its tracker counts 4,588 of 10,791 system functions as done, and a community compatibility map lists 315 games, of which 58 reach a menu or further and five play from start to finish.
The main number moved backwards this week. On 17 October the tracker reported 89.65% of system functions done; today it reports 42.52%, because the team declared almost three times as many PS5 functions in four days. Over the same four days the finished count rose from 3,368 to 4,588.
