The Male Fruit Fly Connectome: 166,700 Neurons, and Where the Sexes Differ

Researchers published a complete wiring diagram of a male fruit fly’s brain and nerve cord, covering 166,700 neurons and about 124 million connections. Comparing it with the female map shows just a few hundred cell types separate the sexes.
