Social SDK is a free, open-source library that lets a developer’s application publish to seven social networks, X, Instagram, LinkedIn, Threads, TikTok, YouTube and Bluesky, through one set of typed commands. It is built for programmers adding posting to their own product, not for anyone who just wants an app to open. The code is public, a TypeScript package on GitHub and npm that runs on your own server, and it even ships a skill file so a coding agent can wire it in.
The project’s own FAQ says so plainly. Social SDK is a library: it provides no hosted service, no database, no queue and no scheduler worker. Among its direct adapters only YouTube accepts a future publish time; the other six reject scheduling because their platforms have no publish-later field, so a delayed post needs your own job runner. Reaching each network is gated rather than free, through app review and quotas at Meta, Google, TikTok and LinkedIn, usage billing at X, and paid plans on the four managed backends it advertises.
Social SDK documents all of this itself: which operations each platform exposes, that only some routes schedule, and that its adapters are checked against mocks rather than live accounts. The reels sell a finished replacement, while what exists is integration code that spares a developer the plumbing, and only once a platform grants access.
