God’s Eye View is a free, open-source web app that turns a browser tab into a live, photorealistic 3D globe for anyone curious about what planes, ships and satellites are doing right now. Built by Bilawal Sidhu, who spent years mapping the world at Google, it fuses 19 feeds: more than 11,000 aircraft, thousands of ships, an 838-object satellite catalog, the last day of earthquakes, and about 3,600 public traffic cameras projected into 3D cities. Seventeen of the 19 layers need no account or API key. You can ride a tracked flight down in cockpit view, switch the globe to night vision or thermal, and talk to it: an optional OpenAI voice layer answers questions like which ships are headed to Oakland.
Flight transponders, ship beacons, orbital elements, seismographs and city camera feeds are all published; Sidhu just put them on one globe and made them explorable. It runs on your own machine, so the code is as inspectable as the feeds. The honesty matters too: traffic is simulated, camera angles are estimates, and the README says not to use it for navigation. The project also draws a line: it tracks aircraft and ships, not named people.
The project reframes spy tech as a reminder that most of what looks classified is already public. The point is not a bigger model but cleaner fusion of open feeds, and a hosted version is already being built so anyone can open it without installing anything.
